Hello Everyone!
This website gives me the opportunity to promote my practice and my book, The Pithy Book of Blood Labs. The idea formed four years ago with my own search for a clinical lab book that presented the material from a physiology perspective rather than a biochemical one. After all, I work in a primary care setting and wanted to follow the diagnostic workups my patients were receiving from their primary care providers. I imagined that someone else had already written such a book and all I needed to do was purchase it. But I never did find that book, so I started to research and create my own summaries. I've since learned that books have a will and a life of their own, and this one took over my life and culminated into a full-blown manual.
Pithy Labs has twelve chapters: Red blood cells
Iron tests and anemia diagnoses
White blood cells and the immune system
Electrolytes and acid-base balance
Kidney function tests and
